‘Hounds Look to Bounce Back

Last night, the DockHounds opened the 2023 campaign with a 17-4 defeat against their cross-town rival, the Milwaukee Milkmen. Lake Country starter Evan Kruczynski took the loss, allowing 10 runs (6 earned), on 7 hits and 5 walks in 2.1 innings of work.

Ryan Hartman was a bright spot for the DockHounds in relief though, allowing just 3 hits and no runs in 3.2 innings out of the bullpen.

Offensively for Lake Country, the only scoring game in the 4th inning with the Hounds putting up 4 runs in that frame. Jaxx Groshans hit the first homer of the year for Lake Country, a two-run shot, driving in Aaron Simmons after back-to-back doubles by

Marcus Chiu and Simmons to lead off the inning. An RBI groundout by Pat Adams later in the frame accounted for the 4th and final run of the night for Lake Country.

Tonight’s DockHounds Starter

Taking the ball tonight for Lake Country will be RHP Conor Fisk. Fisk is a Wisconsin native, from Brown Deer, WI, attending Grafton High School.

The 31-year-old was drafted in the 34th round of the MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2010 out of high school. Following his college career pitching at Southern Mississippi, Fisk was drafted again in 2014, this time by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 24th round. Fisk has spent time in both the Blue Jays and Colorado Rockies organizations, reaching as high as Triple-A during the 2018 and 2019 seasons with Buffalo (TOR) and in 2021 as with Albuquerque (COL). In seven minor-league seasons, Fisk is 38-33 with a 3.81 ERA over more than 550 innings pitched during those seven years.
