Oconomowoc, Wis. – Game two of the six-game series against the Railroaders was just as wild as game one. Tonight though, Cleburne picked up the victory in 10 innings, by a score of 9-8.
The Railroaders got on the board first in the top of the 3rd, scoring 5 runs off of DockHounds starter Tyler Pike. Lake Country responded right away though, coming back with 3 runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning to cut the deficit to 5-3. In that frame, A two-run homer by the newest DockHound Matt Rodriguez and an RBI single by Nick Banks got the Hounds back in the ballgame. In the 5th inning, following three more runs from Cleburne, Lake Country responded with 3 once again. This time, a 2-RBI double by Brian Rey and an RBI single by Marcus Chiu brought home the runs. The Hounds scored their final two runs of the night with single tallies in the 7th and the 10th.
The DockHounds bullpen was very effective tonight, working four innings in relief, only allowing 2 runs (1 earned) on 1 hit out of the bullpen. Augie Voight worked the 6th and 7th innings, giving up no hits and no runs. Matt Mullenbach came in for the 8th and only allowed one hit and no runs as well. Jojanse Torres worked the 9th and 10th innings, allowing no hits and two runs (one earned), walking three and striking out three.
With the loss tonight, the DockHounds fall to 15-20 on the season and will give the ball to Austin Faith tomorrow night. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 from Wisconsin Brewing Company Park.
