Oconomowoc, Wis. – In what is one of the most critical series of the entire season, the DockHounds have begun the three-game set with two victories. Tonight, the Hounds defeated the Kane County Cougars by a score of 7-1 to bring the winning streak to 4 games for Lake Country.
The MVP of the ballgame this evening was without a doubt, Conor Fisk. The righty came into tonight’s start with a record of 1-5 and an ERA of 6.70. Saturday evening, the 2,015 in attendance at Wisconsin Brewing Company Park, saw what Conor is capable of. Fisk tossed 7 innings of one-run baseball, scattering 4 hits, striking out 6 and not walking a single Kane County hitter. Out of the bullpen, Keisy Portorreal made his return to the mound after stepping away from the team, for the birth of his daughter. In his first outing as a father, Portorreal was great. Keisy pitched a clean 8th inning, not allowing a baserunner and striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced. Gabriel Jaramillo worked the 9th, getting a double-play to end the ballgame stranding the bases loaded.
The top of the Lake Country batting order was a force once again tonight, as the trio of Tiberi, Jones and Sims combined for 4 hits (2 of them doubles) and 4 of the 7 RBIs. Marcus Chiu also continued his hot hitting, going 2-3 with a double of his own.
Former big-leaguer Randall Delgado takes the mound tomorrow as the DockHounds will go for the sweep of Kane County. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. from Wisconsin Brewing Company Park.
