An Iowa native, Snider stayed in his home state and started pitching at a junior college not too far from his hometown of Muscatine, for Marshalltown Community College. After striking out 43 batters in 37 innings during his sophomore season, Snider stepped up to the division two level at Upper Iowa University where he pitched three seasons around the covid-19 pandemic.  

Snider could not land a true professional opportunity upon graduating from Upper Iowa in 2021, but did not give up on his dream. The Pecos League is considered the lowest level of pro baseball, with it often being the final stop for players. Nine starts for the Tucson Saguaros was all Snider needed to earn a true opportunity, a flier with the now defunct Houston Apollos in the American Association. Even as a better opportunity, the Apollos did not have a home park and played all games on the road while traveling the Midwest. Still, Snider took advantage of the chance. 

For 2022, Snider got a tryout with the Lake Country DockHounds. He made the inaugural roster, but his tenure in Lake Country got started on the wrong foot. Five runs scored in his first outing, however, Snider dug in. His first seven outings came in relief before earning a spot in the starting rotation. Through four starts, Snider proved he belonged. Then, Snider put together a historic performance by striking out 16 batters in what would be his final outing with the DockHounds, as he signed a contract with the San Diego Padres as his first crack at affiliate ball.  

The first stop for Snider was low-A with the Lake Elsinore Storm, where Snider won a California League championship. For his first full season in affiliate ball, Snider got the jump to double-A San Antonio in 2023. Injuries forced Snider to miss most of the summer before the Padres released him in the winter.  

This brought Snider back to Lake Country for the 2024 season. He made several big starts for the DockHounds before being traded to the Kansas City Monarchs to conclude the year.
